• A half-a-century old 75 feet (approximately) long wrought iron chimney that reaches for the sky and gives the un-rotting Ashok pillar a run for its history
• A red square structure made of old flat bricks in the corner of the terrace with an iron staircase inscribed with the year 1891
• German copper wires – the artery of the office - ferrying loads of electricity for the last 50 years, something which after inspection our electrician assures us will be in optimal health for another half a century

The old-mill environment in this ageing Hakoba compound, comes alive in the 2nd floor Palador Office.

On any given day the terrace is breezing with winds from the sea just a few kilometres away. That, and the dark black floor, reeking of old tar put on it to prevent water seeping, make the terrace a perfect place for a romantic evening of odd intellectual discussions or reminisces of days gone by, or to dream vision of the future...

Huge skyscrapers have already lined one side of the terrace, and it is our contention that the other sides are not too many years away from the same fate, yet pitted against the mill compound it provides a strange contrast of sorts.
